HONEYMOONS IN KENYA

We do recognise the importance of your honeymoon and are very experienced in preparing wonderful romantic honeymoons in Kenya.

A Kenya honeymoon offers the excitement of going on safari and the pleasures of lying on the shores of the Indian Ocean.  You can experience the romance of being on honeymoon in the African bush at night being under that huge African night sky with the sounds of the bush around you and a camp fire burning in front, bringing light and warmth - it cannot be surpassed for its magic and beauty.  Many comment that Kenya can be crowded and yes that may be true for those who do not know those wonderful areas rich in game but not in people, those areas ideally suited for a honeymoon. Talk to us about your requirements and if it is available we will provide it.

After your safari you can head off to the coast to stay in some wonderful hotels or small beach properties or maybe fly to somewhere more exotic such as the islands of Lamu or Zanzibar, they are all available to you when taking a honeymoon in Kenya. Indeed for those who wish to extend themselves then the Seychelles or Mauritius are beautiful tropical islands in the Indian Ocean with wonderful sandy beaches are only a few hours flying time away from Nairobi.

A couple of broad points though to take into consideration.

  • First, please note during April and May when the weather cannot be guaranteed. It is the rainy season and many of the smaller more romantic properties both in the bush and on the beach do close for part of this time.

  • If you haven’t been on safari before don't be put off by the idea of staying in tents, they can be large and roomy with en suite private facilitiesand proper full size beds, but there are also some wonderful solid built alternatives should you wish to stay in them instead.  For those wanting a short safari before or after time on the beach we would recommend visiting the Masai Mara, ideally at least for three nights.  However if you wish to extend your time on safari then consider Amboseli or Tasvo or even the tranquility of the Lakes.  Just give us a call and one of our safari consultants will be very pleased to discuss some ideas woth you.

  • Please consider too what your budget is. The range in price for the various properties on safari is quite considerable from about US$350 or £206 per person per night up to US$790 or £465 per person per night while the cost of staying in a hotel by the beach is very much less.  The safari costs do include most things except personal expenditure like your drinks bill and laundry, the local costs are not high when in Kenya. We find the average local expenditure tends to be no more than £200 per couple unless of course you buy lots of presents to bring back with you. You will find the cost of somewhere is not a reflection of whether it is tented accommodation or brick built, it is a reflection of the experience you will have while staying there. Those smaller properties which offer a more personalised service, and those with higher standards of guides, tend to be more expensive, like anywhere in the world those who are excellent at their job of work tend to be paid more than those who are not so excellent. We do though ensure you have good value for money wherever you stay.

In outline below are a few itinerary summaries with links to more information to give you some idea of the sort of honeymoon which can be prepared for you.

However we do recommend you telephone or email to discuss your requirements with one of us.

Call to discuss your requirements on 01255 446250 or send an email with your requirements and we will prepare an itinerary for you.
