KENYA EXPLORED

Explore all the main regions of Kenya staying in small but wonderful camps and lodges where the standard of service is very personalised, professional and attentive though not intrusive. Movement between areas is either by scheduled flight or in some instances by private charter light aircraft. This itinerary takes you to regions well known and some not well known but does give you a wonderful opportunity to see Kenya in all of its majesty.

Day 1

Amboseli After an early breakfast met and transferred to Wilson airport in time for the scheduled flight to the Amboseli. Met on arrival and transferred to Ol Kanjau, the “Camp of the Elephants” a traditional style tented camp just three kilometres east of Amboseli National Park.

Day 2 & 3

Amboseli In addition to close elephant watching some of the other activities which are possible from Ol Kanjau camp include, day and night game drives through the plains of Amboseli, bush walks, bird watching in the vast wetlands and swamps of Amboseli and the woodlands.

Day 4

Lewa Wildlife Conservancy Fly back to Wilson airport in time for the scheduled flight to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Met and transferred to Lewa Safari Camp. The Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is a pioneer of wildlife preservation and visitors are welcomed to a scenically spectacular area densely populated with exciting wildlife

 

Day 5
Lewa Wildlife Conservancy  While staying in Lewa you have the opportunity of day and night drives in open 4 wheel-drive vehicles, bush walks, game viewing by horseback or from camels (extra cost if staying in the tented camp) and visits to Il N’gwesi Maasai cultural village.
Day 6
Namunyak Transferred to the airstrip to meet your private charter by light aircraft to Namunyak. Met on arrival and transferred to Sarara Camp in the Namunyak Wildlife Conservation Trust, an area of approximately 75,000 hectares, which lies folded around the southern corner of the fabled Mathews Mountain range of northern Kenya, home to the proud Samburu tribes people.
Day 7 & 8

Namunyak Time for game viewing or escorted bush walks, fly camping safaris with camels along the wide sand ‘luggas', moonlit bush dinners beside natural animal watering points, and day trips to Samburu and Shaba game reserves.

Day 9

Lake Baringo Today a private harter flight to Lake Baringo where you are met and transferred by boat across the lake to Samatian Island. Samatian is a small island with breath-taking views across the bronze waters of the Great Rift Valley 's Lake Baringo. Accommodation is for up to 10 guests in four comfortable, airy, open plan cottages with superb views over the lake, each with its own bathroom and sitting area.

Day 10

Lake Baringo With its tranquil surroundings Samatian provides a perfect holiday where guests can relax. And for the active – boat rides to: explore   the lake and its inhabitants – hippo, crocodile, over 450 species of birds; hot springs with steaming pools; lakeside walks; visits to the Njemps and Pokot peoples to experience their tribal cultures. Lake BOGORIA an easy day trip to see thousands of flamingo feeding in the soda lake, and if you are lucky Greater Kudu, that live on the escarpment above the lake.

Day 11

Masai Mara This mornign a private charter flies you to Nanyuki to connect with the scheduled flight to the Mara where you will be met by a guide from Rekero and transferred to Rekero. You will be staying at either the cottages or in the tented camp. Both offer excellent comfortable accommodation with excellent service and great food while guests staying at the cottages do have an exclusive use of vehicle when out game viewing.

Day 12 & 13

Masai Mara Wildlife viewing both in the Masaai Mara and in the private lands surround Rekero escorted by professional guides who do give you an insight to the local culture and practices as well as the abundant wildlife which can be seen all year on the Masaai Mara.

Day 14 Nairobi Return to the airstrip in time for the scheduled flight to Wilson airport in Nairobi.

 

Price per person is from US$6,628 or £4,017 excluding international flights including full board thoughout, game viewing activities, national park fees, local flights and transfers.

International flights flying from London return are about £450 per person plus taxes of £85 per person
