TASTE of KENYA

A short safari in the world famous Masai Mara where there is always great game viewing before flying off to the coast for time to relax and enjoy the pleasures of being by the Indian Ocean

Day 1

Met and transferred to the airport for your flight to the Masai Mara.  Kicheche Mara Camp is a classic luxury bush camp in the Masai Mara in Kenya. It is hidden in a grove of wild olive trees in a prolific wildlife area. Game viewing starts right from the camp itself.

Day 2 & 3

Game drives each day out onto the plains of the Masai Mara.  The Masai Mara National Reserve offers wonderful scenery and an abundance of big game. With its rolling plains it is reminiscent of "Hemingway Country". The Mara is renowned for its magnificent black maned lions with their large prides who spend most of the day sleeping in the shade of the acacia trees. The wildlife is quite prolific all year round. But it is especially exciting during the Wildebeest Migration months when some hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebras migrate into the Masai Mara from July thru to about November.

Day 4

Met and transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi. Transfer to the flight to Mombasa.  Met and transferred to Southern Palms.

Some 35 kms drive across the ferry and south from Mombasa, Southern Palms Beach Resort is situated on an ocean front of sultry tree fronds swaying gently on the sea breezes over a wide swathe of brilliant white sand. The property spreads over 10 acres of mature tropical gardens and coconut palms.  The rooms are fully air-conditioned and feature a locally carved "Pili Pili" four-poster double bed.

Day 5 - 10

Time to relax and enjoy the pleasures of being on the coast of the Indian Ocean.

Activities available at the resort include a floodlit tennis court, volley ball, squash court, fitness centre, pool games, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, petanque, tables tennis, darts, snorkelling, water aerobics, windsurfing, catamaran sailing, pool tables, bird watching please note some may cost additional payment.

Day 11

Met and transferred to the airport for your flight to Nairobi for onward travel.

 

Price per person is from £1,134 or US$1,871 excluding international flights including full board on safari and half board at the beach, game viewing activities, local flights and transfers.

International flights flying from London return are from about £450 per person plus taxes of £85 per person
