We have listed and included information on some of the properties we would recommend to you. However please note our recommendations do change and though we do try to keep the web site up to date it sometimes can be a few days out of date.

TSAVO National Park

The combined area of Tsavo East and West National Parks makes this Kenya’s largest national park and one of the world's largest game sanctuaries covering over 8,000 sq miles. The parks are of bush grasslands and acacia woodlands, dotted with baobab and ivory palm, with saltbush, doum palm, tamarind and fig trees by the riverside. Tsavo East is arid flat landscape covered in acacia bush with clumps of baobab trees and the less frequently visited of the two national parks.

The wildlife in the parks includes herds of elephants, prides of lions, fringed eared oryx, klipspringer, striped hyena and caracal can be seen. Weaver birds and their fascinating nests are found throughout the parks as are Fischer starlings, hornbills and parrots.

Galdessa

Galdessa is a small eco-tourism tented lodge in Kenya's largest park, Tsavo East National Park. The accommodation and activities are geared at the discerning traveller looking for a private experience in the African bush. The camp has only eight bandas (sort of semi-tented thatched bungalows) spread over 9.5 acres for maximum privacy. The Honeymoon Suite has its own sitting room, viewing platform and water wallow. Bathroom showers are fed by a canvas drum in true safari tradition, while the stone sink provides running water, and the toilets are flush. Galdessa is an eco-tourism camp they use solar power, recycle waste, and even have installed a water treatment plant. Wildlife regularly uses the camp grounds - especially elephants which, at 8,000, constitute Kenya's largest population, the camp is located in the heart of one of Africa's most successful conservation projects, and is lucky to have 48 black rhinos in its direct vicinity.

From day game drives in open Toyota Land Cruisers to walking safaris along the Galana river and wild luxurious meals in the bush, Galdessa is your Nature specialist. Tsavo is still very much pristine and you will live your experience without the inconvenience of mass tourism, which does not come to this remote yet magical part of the park. Link to web site
